Amphiphilic core-shell particles
As early as 2003, our chief scientist, Prof. Li, was granted a patent on her groundbreaking core-shell particle technology. “My technology was revolutionary because I managed to combine two incompatible layers in one particle, so that the end product is amphiphilic – having both water- and oil-based components,” explained by Prof. Li.
Her unique core-shell particle can be made up of an oil-based core and a water-based outer shell. After the spray is applied, water evaporates and the oil-based cores would fuse together forming a durable coating.

What is CareCoatex Pro?
CareCoatex Pro is a cutting-edge product invented by Prof. LI Pei‘s research team from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology) and Grand Rise Technology Co. Ltd. (PolyU InnoHub Startup Company).
CareCoatex Pro is a series of disinfection products including spray and wet wipes, composed of advanced nanoparticles and natural disinfectants. CareCoatex Pro is capable of killing commonly occurring bacteria and viruses, and providing long-term protection for up to 180 days.
Since CareCoatex Pro is composed of natural ingredients, it is safe to use for kids, the elderly, and pets. This innovative product have been commercialized since 2021. Now CareCoatex Pro have been utilized in different widely including The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, M+ museum, etc

What is the uniqueness of CareCoatex Pro?
CareCoatex™ Pro Antimicrobial spray comprising of eco-friendly and biocompatible ingredients can kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, and form a protective coating lasting over 180 days. This product is manufactured with the patented InnoCoatex™ Core-Shell Particle technology based on natural materials.
Unlike other market available products, CareCoatex Pro is a alcohol, chlorine and non-metal-free - disinfectant. The active ingredients in CareCoatex Pro are natural and bio-based materials. The Formation of continuous CareCoatex Pro thin film on daily commodities is one of the most important features to provide long-term anti-bacterial and anti-viral protection for 180 days. The coating exhibits excellent adhesion on most of the daily commodities made of plastic, metal, paper, glass, leather, fabric, and other composite materials.

Can CareCoatex Pro kill bacteria, viruses, and Covid19?
CareCoatex Pro has been tested by third party testing laboratories for the anti-bacterial tests (ASTM E2315:16). Results show that it can kill > 99.99 % of most commonly occurring bacteria, e.g. E. Coli, P. Aeruginosa, S. Aureus, E. Hirae, S. Typhimurium.
CareCoatex Pro has also been tested by the third party laboratories for anti-viral test (ISO 21702:2019). Results show that it can kill > 99.9 % of H1N1, H3N2, and Human Coronavirus 229E (HCoV 229E). In fact, the Human Coronavirus 229E had a similar structure to CoVid 19 (SARS-CoV-2). Thus, countries like Australia and New Zeeland regard this virus as the surrogate of CoVid 19 (see below two links).
